Welcome to the Streams Canada School of Ministry Blog.

Our goal for this blog is to bless you as you read what is going on in the lives of our interns while they are here in Vancouver as well as a tool to pray, keep updated and to just be encouraged!

Most of the updates posted here will be by the interns themselves. Our prayer is that you will be blessed, inspired and encouraged to press in deeper with Jesus.

Our school is a prophetic ministry school where students of all ages come and get involved in what God is doing in Vancouver BC.

Jenn Evelyn: Intern

I'm Jenn Evelyn and I'm a Streams Intern. What does that even mean anyway? What's the internship about? We're a resident ministry school that focuses on equipping and training young people to help reach the calling on their lives. That brings me to the next common question, what have we been up to?

Monday we have spiritual alignment, a time where we all get together and really seek out God and what He has for us this week, to align our hearts and our plans with His heart and His plans. Last week Kulbir Raju, one of our leaders, spoke about learning to lay down our own plans and ambitions and seeking out God's plans for us and laying down our own lives that we may serve Him and His vision for us. We spent the week putting a real emphasis on making Jesus our center and our source.

On Wednesday Bruce Friesen and his son Caleb, along with Caleb's wife and little boy Elijah, came out from Victoria to impart to us and teach us for the day. It was really a great day to spend with them and everything he had to say was very timely. It was what we needed to hear.

Bruce spoke about a number of different things but they were all related and were all really important things. Bruce spoke on making God our center and our source for everything and how we need to focus on the unseen, what's going on in the spiritual rather than only focusing on what we are seeing at that time. Often, we look at our circumstances and only see what's happening to us and can only see how things are going wrong or whatever the case, but we rarely step back and look to what God is doing in that situation or circumstance. Something that I thought was really interesting that Bruce spoke on was seeing the purpose God has for our trials and hardships. God is a just God, and nothing He does is without reason or purpose. God has a purpose for everything, whether we know the purpose or not. Bruce encouraged us to keep pressing through whatever any of us might be going through and to really seek out God's purpose in it all. He encouraged us to not lose heart and to not become discouraged. It was really powerful time.

The rest of the week we continued with the ISD course 101 and reflecting on what God's been up to. It was a really good week here at the internship, as intense as it was. We really broke through something and it's been really cool to see it all happening!

Now we're continuing with the 101 and we'll be starting the 102 with John Thomas, the pastor of the MetroWest Bridge in Natick, Massachusetts. We're really excited for what's going on and for what's still to come.

Erin Plester: Intern
Its the beginning of week six at Streams and already so much has happened. Servant hood has been a main theme right from our beginning. For the first two weeks six of us spent our work portion of the day(about 4 hours) painting a number of offices for SOS a non-profit organization. It was a lot of work but it gave us an amazing opportunity to bless SOS, meet some new people and get to know each other a little better.

Two weeks ago another group spent a weekend volunteering at a Unite in Worship Conference. We worked in different areas of the conference and got the opportunity to attend some of the workshops as well as the worship conference in the evenings. Again there was a lot to do and the two days we were there despite being tired we kept great attitudes. We were told later that the group of us stood out as people with great work ethic and servant hearts. Clearly God was there using us to bless those around us.

The value of community is only one of the many concepts God is teaching me here. Six weeks in, its pretty awesome to look back and see how we have all come, but looking forward is even better, knowing God is only going to increase what He is already doing.

To help you understand what happens here, we will be hearing from the interns themselves to give you their perspective of what its like being part of the internship, here in Vancouver, BC.
